Kitesurfing Camp in Akyaka, Turkey
Join the community and learn new tricks on the water – or discover kitesurfing for the first time under the sun at what’s probably Europe’s most wind-secure kite spot!
Travel with Ender & Emely from OceanSoul on a unique kitesurfing and yoga adventure to the windy paradise of Akyaka, Turkey.
Experience an authentic escape far from mass tourism, surrounded by nature and charm.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced kitesurfer, you’re welcome to join!
We’ll be with you on the beach all day – coaching, supporting, and helping you master the tricks you want to learn on the water. Of course, all activities are optional to join.
Each morning begins with yoga by the beautiful freshwater river, a peaceful way to prepare for an active day.
Throughout the week, we’ll take you on excursions to hidden gems in the area – including a sunset viewpoint overlooking the bay, a local market, a boat trip, and more.
Akyaka is famous for its steady thermal wind, which starts late in the morning and lasts until sunset – typically between 7 and 10 m/s.

Wind & Weather
Akyaka is one of the world's most windsafe kitespots. Every day around 11 a thermal wind starts which typically lasts until late afternoon or sunset. As the wind is thermal, it does NOT appear on weather forecasts. Knowledge is typically between 7-10 m/ The wind is mostly steady, consistent and not gusty. Akyaka is known as one of the best beginner spots in all of Europe. This is, among other things, due to onshore winds and a nice sandy bottom you can bottom about 150m out. Akyaka also creates the ideal conditions for the seasoned kitesurfer with world-class conditions for foil, freeride, freestyle. We are with you all the way and provide both inspiration and help to learn everything from your first turn to an unhooked handle pass. The weather in September and the beginning of October is warm and most kiters wear swimwear or a shorty wetsuit. However, some enjoy wearing a long 3/2 wetsuit. And a shirt/trousers for the morning/evening. In week 42 there may be less wind than the remaining weeks. In 2023 and 2024, it blew like usual and well throughout October, so we expect the same. However, if you want a wind guarantee, book one of the previous trips.
Yoga
Yoga is great for kitesurfers! Yoga helps i.a. with recovering the body faster and getting both body and mind ready for many good hours on the water! It is of course voluntary if you want to participate in the yoga lessons. The yoga classes are adapted so that both complete beginners and experienced people can participate. Everything is guided and customized so everyone gets something out of it. Yoga is no competition and you just have to come completely as you are. The yoga lessons are based on Hatha yoga, but we also touch on elements from Yin and Vinyasa yoga. The yoga lessons take place outdoors, where we draw the clean, fresh air right into our lungs and feel the elements around us.
Kiteschool
Our base on the kite beach is a comfortable newer kite school with great facilities. Among other things; hot showers, toilets and compresses. You will also find comfortable lounge and chill facilities and a terrace with a view of the spot. There are storage options and you can rent quality equipment from Duotone kiteboarding. There is a restaurant and coffee shop at the beach as well.
Beginner Kitesurfing Lessons
If you don't already know how to kitesurf, it is possible to purchase a beginner's lesson at our camp. If you have already received instruction, but are not ready to manage independently on the water yet, you can continue your journey with the hours you want. The teaching is always 1:1 and you progress at a pace that suits you exactly. Our instructors are carefully selected and since it is their full-time job and teach both in Akyaka and abroad, they have an incredible amount of teaching experience and speak good English. The course is structured so that you gradually develop an understanding of the sport. Safety is always in focus. In the first part of the course, you become familiar with the necessary terminology, safety and how to control the kite. At your own pace, you then continue with various exercises in water that will make you more comfortable with the kite and later ready to get on the board! Everyone learns differently and at a different pace. After finishing the course, you can continue with the teaching if necessary, or join the rest of the experienced people in the group, where there will be daily help and coaching from Emely and Ender. There are a limited number of places for beginners - so booking this must be stated at the time of registration. The price is €70 per hour which is paid to the kite school before departure. There are typically several people on our trips who take a beginner's course - so you are not alone! We are together on the beach all day and it takes place in the same place. It is the instructors on the trip who assess whether your level is good enough to cope independently on the water or whether you need more instruction. If you participate in our trip, you must follow our instructions and rules, etc. in relation to where you can kite on the spot, etc. This is of course also in the participants' own interest, as it is due to safety.
Who travels with us?
Kitesurfing, yoga and nature bring us together despite age, background, job and nationality! Many wonderful amazing people choose to travel with us every year! Our guests often continue the relationship after the camps and a party and unique community arises. We have approx. equal numbers of men and women who participate in our camps. And we have had kite surfers from 13 years old to 65 years old with us! We are here to give you the best possible holiday, everything happens on your own terms and at your own pace. Of course, you only participate in what you want. We value our community and we look forward to welcoming you!
Sustainability on the trip
In kitesurfing we depend on the elements! We love mother earth and the fantastic experiences she gives us. We also love tourism and giving our guests the best possible experience. On our travels, we pay a lot of attention to social sustainability. We work exclusively with locals from Akyaka and contribute to creating jobs etc. in the village. We don't want to take work away, but to create more work for the locals. Do you book e.g. a beginner kitesurfing course you will be taught by skilled locals who also know the wind and water conditions inside and out. Furthermore, the food we eat will be grown in the local area (max somewhere else in Turkey) and will be in season.
