Kite safari to the Red Sea - Hurgarda Egypt
Wind. Water. Community.
Seven nights on a yacht in crystal-clear waters. Wake up to the sound of the sea, kite until the sun goes down, and end each day on deck with good food and great company.
Kitesurfing, and the community that comes with it, has given me some of the best and most meaningful moments of my life. That's why I created OceanSoul – and why I'd love for you to join me on this kite safari adventure in Egypt!
It's more than a holiday. It's an experience you'll feel in your whole body, and one that stays with you long after you've come home.
Got questions? Drop us a line at hello@oceansoul.dk – we'll get back to you quickly.

Travel safely with OceanSoul — We are a member of the Danish Travel Guarantee Fund (Rejsegarantifonden), and since 2022 we've been creating professional, thoughtfully designed travel experiences with a focus on safety and quality in every detail. Nearly 1,000 happy guests have already traveled with OceanSoul, and we can't wait to welcome you on your next trip!

The weather on the Red Sea
magine waking up next to a new island every morning. No hotel chains, no crowded beaches. Just turquoise water, desert landscapes on the horizon and a wind that shows up day after day.
-
Steady northerly winds that usually build through the day and peak in the afternoon. Expect around 7–12 m/s (15–25 knots)
-
Because we live on a boat, we chase the wind and sail wherever conditions are best
-
March marks the start of the kite season in the Red Sea, with clear skies and virtually no rain
-
Daytime temperatures sit around 24–27°C, with the sea at around 22°C. Evenings cool down to around 16°C, so bring a warm layer for those long nights on deck
-
We recommend a 3/2 mm wetsuit – the wind makes the water feel cooler than the numbers suggest
-
Sun, warmth and wind, while Northern Europe is still waiting for spring

"I've just come back from a week of kitesurfing and yoga in Egypt with OceanSoul and Emely Freja. It was an absolutely amazing trip, full of great experiences, delicious food, kiting and yoga – all wrapped up in a warm, close-knit atmosphere with spirits high the whole way through. Emely creates a great environment for learning and makes sure everyone feels good. The yoga and kitesurfing instruction is excellent, and Emely and her team really take the time to share tips and tricks, both on the mat and on the water 😊 I can only give OceanSoul my very highest recommendation. This definitely won't be the last trip I join! 😊🙏🏻"

Who is this trip for?
Come as you are. We’ll take care of the rest.
-
Intermediate kitesurfers: If you can ride independently, a week packed with water time, varied spots and coaching from certified instructors is the fastest way to take your riding to the next level
-
Advanced kitesurfers: Downwinders between the islands, flat-water lagoons for freestyle and fresh inspiration for your next trick – with a boat that takes you wherever the wind is best
-
Beginners: Beginner lessons can be added to your trip (see more information below)
-
Solo travellers: Many of our guests travel alone and head home with friends for life. If you’re travelling solo, we’ll pair you up with a cabin mate
-
Those who’d rather skip the logistics: From the moment we pick you up at the airport until we drop you off again, everything is taken care of – food, accommodation, transport and spots. All you have to do is show up
-
Those who want it all: Kiting, snorkelling, sunsets on deck, great food and islands you’d never otherwise get to see
The beautiful thing about kitesurfing, the ocean and life on board is the way it brings people together, regardless of who they are. Age, background, nationality – it all fades away once the wind picks up and you’ve shared a deck for a week. The one thing our guests have in common? They were looking for something more.
Our guests tend to be the most wonderful people, and many of them stay in touch, both on and off the water, long after the trip is over.
"I've just got home after seven incredible days in El Gouna with OceanSoul, and it was a truly unforgettable experience! Emely and her team have created a trip that really hits the mark – the perfect mix of kitesurfing, yoga and wonderful company. Their passion and dedication shine through in everything they do, and they go above and beyond to make sure everyone has a magical week. Whether on the water, on the yoga mat or simply enjoying the great sense of community, it was a week full of joy, energy and good vibes. If you're thinking about joining a trip with OceanSoul, I can only give them my warmest recommendation – I'll definitely be back!"

Octopus - Our home on the water
For one week, the yacht Octopus is your home on the water. You'll sleep, eat and unwind on board as we sail from island to island, waking up each morning with the sea right outside your window and a new kite spot within reach.
The cabins
You'll stay in a private cabin with air conditioning, an en-suite bathroom and shower, a minibar and a TV. There are three cabin types to choose from: a standard cabin, a deluxe sea-view cabin, and a panoramic sea-view suite for those who want that little bit extra. Prices are per person based on a shared twin cabin, and a single cabin is available for an additional fee. Travelling solo? We'll pair you with a cabin mate, so you don't have to pay extra to join.
Shared spaces
When you're not on the water, there's plenty of room to relax. The yacht has an indoor and outdoor restaurant, bar and chill-out areas, so you can choose between shade, sunshine or a sky full of stars. There's also a spacious lounge for quieter moments, and in the evenings we gather on deck for good food and stories from the day's sessions.
Kiting and safety
The yacht is built with kitesurfers in mind. There's a dedicated storage area for your gear, 2–4 kite instructors on board and two rescue boats ready whenever you're on the water.
The crew
A crew of 10–15 people takes care of sailing, cooking and service all week, so all you need to think about is kiting, eating and enjoying life at sea.
"Second time visiting Akyaka with OceanSoul. Another fantastic trip with great yoga, kitesurfing and company. Strongly recommended. Stay Salty.

Your instructor and travel guide
Emely Freja
Emely is the tour leader and kite coach on the safari – and your guide every step of the way, from the moment you step on board until the very last session.
She knows Egypt well, having already run several camps there, and knows exactly what makes a week in the Red Sea so special. Day to day, she lives in Akyaka, Turkey, where she also runs OceanSoul's kite camps.
She has been kitesurfing and practising yoga around the world since 2010, teaching both along the way, and is a two-time Danish and two-time Turkish kitesurfing champion. With several kitesurfing instructor certifications and a 500-hour RYT qualification through Yoga Alliance, she knows what she's talking about – and loves sharing it.
Emely has visited 50 countries, kited in almost 20 of them, and also holds a degree in Hospitality & Tourism and a BA in Sports Management.

Further Information - Our FAQ
Yoga
Yoga is great for kitesurfers! Yoga helps i.a. with recovering the body faster and getting both body and mind ready for many good hours on the water! It is of course voluntary if you want to participate in the yoga lessons. The yoga classes are adapted so that both complete beginners and experienced people can participate. Everything is guided and customized so everyone gets something out of it. Yoga is no competition and you just have to come completely as you are. The yoga lessons are based on Hatha yoga, but we also touch on elements from Yin and Vinyasa yoga. The yoga lessons take place outdoors, where we draw the clean, fresh air right into our lungs and feel the elements around us.
